When is "good enough" not good enough?

I've been fighting with an A/C and cooling system retrofit in my GTV6 for weeks now. I finally got the compressor situated satisfactorily, but I can't get the condenser cleanly installed, mainly because I opted to not spend $400 on new barrier hoses. Because the new one is wider than the original, the hoses are a bit too long, and also old/inflexible. so the condenser now sits off-center and slightly at an angle in order to use the original mounting brackets. I'm not excited by the prospect of drilling to install new hardware.

But this pisses me off. I know I could spend more money and do it right. Although, to be honest, it doesn't bother me that much IF it works. But once it's done, it's done. It's not the kind of thing I can complete, charge, and use, then bit by bit get into the shape I know it needs to be in.

I'm torn on this, guys. Especially since I still plan to put the care on the market next fall or the following spring.

I just sold mine, RIP. That was the one car I got all the money on though. I thought yours was on the market already?

Don't drill holes. You'll have the $400 for the new hoses eventually.

Is cutting the hoses an option?

It was but the ad kept getting flagged on Craigslist. Maybe another Alfisti who can't bear to see me sell? But that inspired me to spend more time on truly cleaning it up and getting everything working properly before really trying to sell it. I'm also still 2 years away from a new DD, and the deal with the wife was sell the Alfa to get the one car I actually want. By then, a CPO Audi S3 might be in the realm of possibility.
